Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre grew up surrounded by Rajasthan's colour and craft, and she has spent her career finding ways to make those roots speak to the present. Her work draws on gotta patti, block printing, Kantha, and beadwork, not as nostalgia but as living technique, executed by the artisans whose families have carried these traditions for generations. She has built an entire label, Grassroot, around the belief that fashion with a conscience produces better fashion, and the clothes bear that out. Every collection is both beautiful and purposeful, made from fabrics that took time, by hands that were paid fairly, for women who want to wear something that means something. That combination of ethics and elegance is rare, and Dongre has made it her signature.
