Nida Azwer
Nida Azwer does not design for the present moment alone. She designs for what is disappearing. Her atelier is built on a quiet and urgent mission; to pull the embroidery traditions of interior Sindh back from the edge of being forgotten, and render them on silk, organza, and handwoven fabric for women who may never have known these stitches existed. Hurmich, Sheesha Tanka, Moti Tanka, Heera Tanka, names that carry centuries of craft, worked by hand into every piece she makes. Phoenixes, peacocks, and birds appear throughout her collections as recurring signatures, creatures that feel as ancient as the techniques themselves. There is nothing throwaway about what she produces, and that is entirely the point.
