Color Coded Crime
Color Coded Crime is a Lahore label founded by Mahrang Anwer, built around embroidery techniques that had very nearly died out — Aari, Nakshi, Zardozi, Resham and Salma, worked entirely by hand because mechanising them would end the artisans' livelihoods along with the craft. Recent collections embroider Ustad Mansur's Mughal nature studies onto silk, corduroy and wool. The label calls each garment both artefact and proposition: made to be worn, studied and remembered.
